ADP/AdvancedMD reporting
While ADP/AMD has a large menu of canned reports and most can be exported to excel, we have found it does not meet our operational needs. We use Crystal; report writer to design custom reports for the data we want to see and in the format we want to see it. This can also be accomplished using MS Access and several other third party report writers (check with AMD for compatibility on others, we have only used the two listed above)
By navigating to the "utilities" button and selecting data export- you can export most of your PM data to your server. This exported data is then used as your data base for your report writer and allows you to choose which elements you want to report on and in a format that works for your practice. You will need a data map from AMD
The downloaded data is 4 hours old so month end reporting needs to wait until the first day of the month and after closing your period.
From our experience, the data elements available in the canned reports is available for your custom reporting which makes it easy to design your report in a way that works for you (i.e. the high/low selections are not an issue)
We have an extensive report menu and some of the more common reports we run are:
Custom data tab reports- all fields
AR- any order, any financial class, any provider, combined etc
patient flow- using the status marks in scheduling
unpaid charges by CPT code, provider, posted denial
Payments by cash - testing deposit slips by location
Payments by check number
total visits by gender
total new visits
total nurse only visits
walk in visits
various service mix reports
commercial ins visits
Medicaid visits
Self Pay
APPT summary- appts made, kept, no shows, canceled, avg length of appt
total encounters
