Have an attorney with relevant experience prepare the employment contract for your NPs or PAs.
I currently employee 5 Nurse Practitioners, 2 Physician Assistants and 1 Nurse Midwife. Typically we follow the MGMA Salary Survey, try to stay around the 50 percentile in salary for they type of work being performed by the midlevel. Our common benefit package would first of all be the same as any other rank-and-file-employee, plus 3 weeks vacation, 1 week CME, $1,500 annual CME expense and up to and additional $1,000 for licensing and dues. They have an employment contract with restrictive covenant not to compete, liquidated damages clause and nonsolicitation clause. We may also offer loan repayment up to $10,000 per year. Hope this helps.
