Seeking clarification Section 6 CMS-855B application with regard to change of ownership of medical practice. Do you have experience with CMS with regard to a provider’s lack of compliance (naive v intentional) in timely notification to CMS via 855B when an associate physician becomes a shareholder with a Corporation [medical practice] when notification falls outside 30 day notification period?
In other words, if notification has not been filed w/ Medicare via 855B within 30 day requisite period, when updated 855B received subsequently by CMS what is group’s risk? Does Medicare pause claims processing during update process, or is group at risk of revocation of provider status?
