(2009 FMS-PCS) Financial Management Bootcamp

I just finished the Financial Management Bootcamp session with Lee Ann Webster.  The first part of the presentation was a basic, nuts-and-bolts "accounting for healthcare" talk that had good information for non-accountants and/or people who are new to practice management.  After the break, we focused on how to make this information work for you (using benchmarking, analysis, how to present data, etc.)

Lee Ann has some entertaining stories as well, like the practice that disguised the cost of a swimming pool as a drug supply expense (maybe it's a form of therapy?).  Lee Ann is skilled at making accounting information accessible and useful, and I recommend her seminars, especially if you are new to accounting or healthcare finance.

The Boston Park Plaza hotel is nice.. very ornate.  The hotel's brochure says that every US President since 1927(?) has visited the hotel, although I did not see any sign in my room that said "President so-and-so slept here".  The gym is good too and you'll need it with all the decadent restaurants in the area.
