Practice Tests: Checking the Regs...

After taking the entire self assessment quiz, and some shorter Book of Knowledge (BOK) section questions sent along by my study group leader, I realize that the answer to every regulation questions cannot be "I would consult my attorney."  Top among the regulations that I need to "dive into" are

Fair Labor Standards Act, http://www.dol.gov/whd/flsa/
Stark, http://starklaw.org/stark_law.htm; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stark_Law
HIPAA Privacy and HIPAA Security provisions.

Federal Equal Opportunity Laws  http://www.eeoc.gov/facts/qanda.html

I am happy/relieved that for almost every question that I have come upon,  I know what the right course of action is.  However, when it comes to knowing the actual source of the regulation, I come up short.

Having a study group is terrific, the leader sends topic related article links and focused quiz materials and I try to keep up, putting in some study time week by week.  We are technically on Week 3, but I am definitely going to learn more about the published "Book of Knowledge" so that as I find areas where I really need to "dig in," I will be able to refer to it, and understand the level of detail required for CMPE.

I will post about the BOK next, once I have researched it.  If you are working on CMPE, feel free to post comments here to share your experiences.
