As each of you move toward budgeting season, I wanted to put in a pitch for our Spring Meeting. It may seem like an oxymoron to appeal to your budget at such economically difficult times - however, this meeting is one that you can't miss - the payoffs to your practice will outweigh the expense!!
As you likely know, in response to your feedback - the CSCA annual meeting was moved to a central location this year. CHICAGO! will be an excellent venue for us to meet. We will be staying at the Westin on Michigan Avenue and thru the brilliant negotiating prowess of our MGMA staff, have secured rates that are favorable. We are also planning some fun events, pending a sponsor - that will give you ample opportunity to meet, greet, talk, commiserate, create,.....network.
We are trying a number of new things this year at the meeting - having fewer "lectures" and more panels, workshops and deep dives into critical content areas. The focus of the meeting is on practice readiness in the face of reform with the promise that each and every session will deliver you a TOOL to take back to your practice. We have also designed alternative sessions appealing to both seasoned administrators and administrators newer to the industry. I had the GREAT PLEASURE of hearing our keynote speaker at a meeting that I attended on Friday. You will find Nathan Kaufman provocative and relevant to your daily practice life - he will challenge you to provide the leadership and vision (and work!) for your practice to ensure success in our currently challenging environment.
Without belaboring the point, please plan for your attendance during your planning cycle. Many, many, many more details will follow in the next many months - but do yourself a favor, don't cheat yourself from attending this meeting, or cheat us from learning from you.
