neuro sensory devices

We just picked up a hand surgeon who uses NST in his office.  He claims Medicare told him to use unlisted code 95999.  They do not perform EMGs or needle EMGs.  This is a device that goes on the finger and/or a pinch test to monitor the nerves in the forearm and hands.
We're wondering if there's a better code. I showed the physician the coding book and he doesn't feel any describe what he does.
