North Idaho College

                             Awarded Grant To Train On

Electronic Health Record Systems

Post Falls, Idaho (July 20, 2010) - HighPoint Medical, a provider of Medical Practice Management Services and a strong proponent of continued education, announced today its full support of North Idaho College (NIC) and the new Electronic Health Records (EHR) system training the College will be providing this fall.  NIC is currently accepting applications from prospective students to the 10-credit Electronic Medical Records Adoption for Healthcare Practices certificate program.  The program is designed to help  medical office personnel navigate the selection, implementation and project management of electronic medical records software.  NIC plans to add an additional new certificate program titled Electronic Medical Record Software Support for Healthcare Practices Spring 2011 that will include 9-12 credits of coursework.  Prospective students must have prior healthcare or information technology experience or education.  Students can apply to the program using an online program application at:  www.nic.edu/emra.  Applications will begin being processed the first week of August.  Students must be registered by August 23, which is the first day of Fall semester.  For more information contact NIC's EMR Advisor, Maureen Wagner, at maureen_wagner@nic.edu.

NIC has requested HighPoint Medical's Director of IT, Destry Earling, to serve as one of the educators for the new curriculum.  With over 10 years of experience and a degree in Computer Engineering, Mr. Earling focuses his time on EHR implementations and EHR template customization for HighPoint Medical's provider clients throughout 3 time zones from Alaska to Wyoming.

Despite a multitude of studies showing significant revenue gains after implementing EHR many providers, hospitals and clinics tend to be overwhelmed in moving forward with the change to more modern solutions.  Embracing this technology can bring a medical practice to optimum performance levels and significant revenue improvements.  Successfully implementing and utilizing a system within the next several months may allow a practice to earn up to $44,000 per provider, or more, in government stimulus reimbursements from 2011 to 2015.  Across the country HighPoint Medical works with our provider clients to supply a step by step approach to making this transition from paper charts to EHR.

The company's specialties include: Medical Practice Management, Electronic Health Records and IT Support & Hosting.  HighPoint Medical is making plans to accommodate and support NIC students for internships and extended learning.  For more information visit www.highpointmed.com.
