Time spent posting claims

The practice management software provider we currently utilize posts claim payments for us. We are considering switching to Greenway, and doing posting ourselves. Can anyone share with me how many hours per month you spend posting claims and how many claims per month you process (or just the ratio if you do not want to discuss your business volume)?

We use Gateway also, but have had some of the same issues, at this time we only allow it to post two of our carriers, due to the issues.

We use a clearinghouse called Gateway. They can automatically post your checks for you but I have never liked this because if you get .00 payments there is nothing to alert you to this. The deposits go to the bank but I do not know for a month until I get that monthly report to compare and make sure we are getting payments. I always felt if I have the check and EOB in my hand I can do whatever is necessary from posting the payment, filing for an appeal or whatever is needed. jft
