Reducing call demand/patient messages

Mark,

In order to cut down on some the call volume, we inform the patients that they can come by and fill out a "pink slip" (refill form) or the "peach form" (Ask-A-Nurse for test results if they did not receive them in the mail.)  The provider always tell the patient that they will receive their results in the mail in 5-7 business days if the results are normal.  If they are abnormal, she will call them personally, to give direct instructions.  Med refills are covered on the automatic phone system and "pink slips", the office has 48 to 72 hours to get a script called in.  Hope this helps.
